Multi Lions Club Project - Caseville, October 15th 206

Four Lions Clubs and Caseville Fire Department Team Up to Install New Ramp for Local Resident

Several Lions Clubs, including the Elkton Lions Club, Pigeon Lions Club, USA Lions Club, and Marlette Lions Club, joined forces with the Caseville Area Fire Department on October 15 at the home of James Baker in Caseville for a very special community service project.

The team gathered to remove an aging wooden accessibility ramp and replace it with a new aluminum ramp generously donated by the Talaski Family of Caseville. The new ramp was delivered and installed through the combined efforts of the Caseville Fire Department and members of the four Lions Clubs.

Volunteers made quick work of dismantling the old ramp, but installing the new ramp required determination, teamwork, and perseverance. Despite rain, wind, and challenging conditions, the group worked together until approximately 8:30 p.m. to ensure the project was completed safely and correctly.

The hard work paid off. James Baker was delighted with the result and will now be able to access his home safely and easily thanks to the new aluminum ramp.

This project is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when community organizations, first responders, families, and volunteers come together to help a neighbor in need. The spirit of cooperation, generosity, and service was evident throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed their time, labor, equipment, and support to make this project a success, including:

  • Chief Ben Willenburg, Caseville Area Fire Department

  • Robbie Griffith, Elkton Lions Club

  • Mitch and Lori Grifee, Marlette Lions Club

  • Dick Koehler, Jay TeaGarden, and Larry Leipprandt, Pigeon Lions Club

  • Dave and Lindy Wineman, USA Lions Club (Sebewaing)

Special thanks also go to the Talaski Family for their generous donation of the aluminum ramp and to all of the volunteers who braved the cold, wind, and rain to help complete the project.

The dedication shown by everyone involved reflects the Lions' motto, "We Serve." Through teamwork, compassion, and a shared commitment to helping others, these volunteers made a meaningful difference in the life of a fellow community member.

James Baker now has a safe, durable, and accessible entrance to his home.
